We wish to inform all our friends and customers that the government has issued new measures in light of Greece’s recent case spikes. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that as of 6 am Tuesday, November 3rd, Greece will be divided into two risk zones (from the four at the moment) and that the following measures will be in force for one month:

  1. Monitoring zone – Color: YELLOW (previous green and yellow areas on the risk-assessment map) Leros is included in this Zone.
    1. Mandatory use of masks in all public spaces (indoors and outdoors).
    2. Mandatory teleworking for the 50 percent of employees in the private and public sectors; expects some delays with business transactions.
    3. From Tuesday, the previously imposed curfew will be adjusted from 00:30 – 05:00 (local time) to 00:00 – 05:00. Exemptions for the curfew include anyone in an emergency and those who work during the curfew hours.
    4. Universities will be required only to operate remotely while all other schools will remain open.
    5. All public gatherings are banned.
  2. High-risk zone – Color: RED (previous orange and red areas on the risk-assessment map)
    1. All measures enforced in the Monitoring zone.
    2. Suspension of the operation of restaurants (excluding delivery and takeaway services).
    3. Suspension of the operation of cafes, bars, cinemas, museums, and theaters.
    4. Suspension of the operation of indoor gyms.

The Greek PM stressed that retail shops, hotels, outdoor archaeological sites, and hairdressers would remain open until further notice.
