New lockdown in Greece

As of 6:00 am on Saturday, November 7th, Greece is entering a new nationwide lockdown until the end of the month.

Once again, all shops except pharmacies and food stores will close around the country. Restaurants will be able to deliver meals and provide takeaway but shut to customers. Public movement will only be permitted for work, medical appointments, or physical exercise and will require sending an SMS to 13033 or having a written declaration, as in the previous lockdown. Further information is available at https://forma.gov.gr/ but as the site is only in Greek, consider using your browser’s translation plugin.

Movement between geographical regions (Prefectures) is forbidden apart from specific exemptions, i.e., medical reasons, work, etc.

PM Mitsotakis underlined that wearing masks at all times is strictly mandatory both indoors and outdoors.

Borders will remain open, but anyone arriving from abroad will have to have proof of a negative PCR coronavirus test, said Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias. Travelers will still have to complete and submit their PLF form and may be subject to random testing both upon arrival and exiting the Greek border. For more information, visit https://travel.gov.gr/ and contact your embassy before traveling.

We also advise that you check the flight status with your airlines and check the situation reports of the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/situation-reports).
