Restrictions north of Leros municipal airport (Update)

Restrictions north of Leros municipal airport Update

Recently, there has been a lot of misinformation regarding the restrictions imposed by the Port Authorities of Leros in the area in front of the municipal airport and up to Archangelos. The straight between Archagelos and the gulf of Partheni is a main route between the Blefoutis bay and the South West of the island, and vice versa. When these restrictions were put in place, we informed everyone about the exact restricted area by detailing the waypoints along with their exact coordinates, as provided by the Port Authorities (ref. ΨΤΦΜ4653ΠΩ-7ΜΦ dated 2022-05-19). You can find our original post on our website and on the Facebook pages for Moor & Dock and Lakki Marina.

To clarify any misunderstandings and to reassure our fellow seafarers, the coordinates for the restricted areas are as follows:

All Vessels

A) 37° 11′ 20.04” N, 26° 47′ 45.11” E

B) 37° 11′ 21.56” N, 26° 47′ 47.74” E

C) 37° 11′ 33.93″ N, 26° 47′ 37.78″ E

D) 37° 11′ 30.74″ N, 26° 47′ 33.26″ E

Vessels with a Total Height Over 20m

C) 37° 11′ 33.93″ N, 26° 47′ 37.78″ E

D) 37° 11′ 30.74″ N, 26° 47′ 33.26″ E

E) 37° 11′ 36.84″ N, 26° 47′ 26.51″ E

F) 37° 11′ 40.98” N, 26° 47′ 33.67” E

According to the Port Authorities’ decision, there are no restrictions for vessels over 20 meters outside the mentioned restricted areas and towards Archangelos.

For those wishing to access the interior of the bay beyond the airstrip restriction, we want to inform you that the distance from the restriction perimeter to the shallow area near the mountain, as well as the closest area to the fish farm, is approximately 110 meters wide with depths of 7.3 meters and greater. Therefore, there is access to our premises and the rest of the bay.

We have attached all relevant documents for quick reference.
